Hispanic Heritage month is held Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, and it serves as a moment to promote history, culture, and the contributions of Hispanic and Latin Americans. Generations of Hispanic Americans have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society. The month-long observance begins on Sept. 15, because it signifies the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries – Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
