SNAP-Ed Work Improves Local Access to Healthy Foods

The SNAP-Ed program in Defiance County is helping improve access to local foods for community members. By using tools from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Annie Crowder-Reynolds, program assistant for SNAP-Ed, in Defiance County facilitated a Community Health Improvement Plan and partnered with a local farmers market to make it possible for shoppers to use SNAP/EBT as a payment option with vendors. This work was recently featured in a PSE READI newsletter (under PSE Highlights).
